Status: Part or Full time; 24-32hrs/week, non-exempt
North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist who will serve a critical role in advancing oral health across the district by providing preventative dental services, education, and early identification of oral health concerns, particularly among underserved and aging populations. This position delivers care in both clinic and outreach settings, including NCDHD offices and satellite clinic locations.
While collaborating closely with internal and external partners, the Dental Hygienist will help bridge the gap in access to care by bringing services directly into the community. This role emphasizes prevention, relationship-building, and improving long-term health outcomes through intervention and outreach.
Key Highlights:
• Provide cleanings, fluoride treatments, and basic oral health assessments
• Deliver services in both clinic and community-based settings
• Collaborate with healthcare partners and local organizations to reach high-need and aging populations and coordinate services
• Support prevention-focused, patient-centered care
• Build relationships with patients who may not otherwise access dental services
• Provide oral health education to youth, aging, and underserved populations
Ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and compassionate professional who is passionate about serving rural and underserved populations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, community minded, and committed to improving oral health outcomes.
Education and Experience: Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Nebraska with public health authorization, or the ability to obtain a authorization upon hire.
