The Omaha Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA) would like to welcome all dental hygienists residing inside & outside the greater Omaha area to join us for a great year of speakers and topics. Our courses are public events and we encourage you to invite a dental hygiene colleague/employer/staff member to any course.

The 2011/12 calendar of events will be posted online by July 2011. A packet displaying the CEU courses sponsored by the Omaha Dental Hygienists’ Association for the year commencing in September 2011 and ending in March 2012 will be mailed to all Omaha area dental hygienists by August 1, 2011. This year, the ODHA community service project will focus on the prevention and early detection of oral cancer. ODHA has partnered with Dr. Tom Dobleman, MD, Otolaryngologist , in sponsoring oral cancer screening events in the Omaha area. We encourage dental hygienists to attend the September 1st CEU course, which will be presented by Dr. Dobleman, to learn more about oral cancer and become properly calibrated in performing a head & neck oral cancer exam. Dental hygienists are at the frontline of prevention and we are one of the most important professionals to bring this awareness to the citizens of our community. We will be relying on the volunteer support of dental hygienists in the Omaha area to screen patients during our oral cancer screening events. Together we can make a difference and we encourage you to donate a few hours of your time to promote oral cancer prevention. Look for more information soon…
